About This Workshop:
At the heart of the Mirroring Hands approach that it is co-created, in a responsive way.
Mirroring Hands is a unique form of practice that focuses on what the client can manifest with minimal directions or suggestions from the therapist, but with the therapist’s sensitive responsiveness and appropriate guidance.
Mirroring Hands is not designed for any single issue, it is for every issue. It is about the client’s needs, not just the symptom that brings them to therapy.
Many of the exciting processes emerging lately have their roots in the wonderful work of Milton Erickson, Ernest Rossi and Mirroring Hands. Come learn about and experience from the SOURCE.
Mirroring Hands is especially powerful when the client and the therapist are not sure where they need to go. We will experience this gentle yet incredibly powerful practice that was developed by Ernest Rossi during his years with Milton Erickson and now entrusted to Richard Hill.
You'll learn:
- Understand the core principles of Mirroring Hands and how it facilitates client-led therapeutic change with minimal therapist direction
- Learn how to create the conditions of safety and collaboration that allow clients to naturally enter trance states in their own way
- Develop therapist responsiveness and attunement, rather than relying on scripted techniques or formal inductions
- Experience how Mirroring Hands can be applied to any presenting issue, especially when the therapeutic direction is unclear
- Gain embodied, hands-on practice through experiential activities that integrate learning at both cognitive and somatic levels
Mirroring Hands trusts the client’s inner timing—no force, no resistance.
When clients are given the opportunity and the circumstances they are safe to naturally go where they need, and are able, to go. The common difficulties of resistance and failure disappear. I have never asked anyone to close their eyes or relax and yet clients do – in exactly the way that is right for them.
Some people choose to keep their eyes open, which they tell me later was exactly what was needed – for them. It is not unusual to not do any form of induction because many clients take themselves into a trance at the exact time that is perfect for them.
The approach that supports Mirroring Hands allows for a true collaboration between the client’s natural capacities and the therapist’s skillfully attuned response-ability.
As often as possible activities, exercises and breakout practice are used to bring the teaching to the mind and the body. It is collaborative experience leaving you with direct experience in how practice Mirroring Hands.
Collaboration replaces control, and transformation follows.
Meet Richard Hill
Richard Hill, MA, MEd, MBMSc, PhD(c) presents internationally on the science of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy including his specialty: Curiosity & Possibility and the Client-Responsive Approach.
He is co-author with the eminent Ernest Rossi, PhD, of The Practitioner’s Guide to Mirroring Hands and co-author with Matthew Dahlitz of The Practitioner’s Guide to the Science of Psychotherapy; Managing Editor of The Science of Psychotherapy quarterly magazine; Science Director of CIPPS in Salerno, Italy; and Patron of the Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists. He lives in Sydney Australia.

Conference Refund Policy
Due to the amount of logistics, care, and non-refundable deposits that go into planning the largest hypnosis conference, we have the following policies in place.
Participant Refund Policy
Conference registration and/or workshop registration may be canceled with full refund (less a 10% processing fee) provided written notification is received prior to February 1, 2026.
Cancellation after February 1st & before May 14th, refund permitted minus 25% processing fee.
Cancellation after May 14th & before July 1st, refund permitted minus 50% processing fee
Due to financial obligations incurred by Hypnothoughts Live, no refunds will be granted after July 1, 2026.
In the case of an emergency, special requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the leadership team following the conference.
No-shows cannot be issued a refund, as contractual agreements have been met and paid to the venue based on attendance.

Force Majeure: Hypnothoughts Live will not be held responsible for any costs or damages incurred due to circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, strikes, or other unforeseen events.

NOTE: Please allow one complete billing cycle before refunds appear on your credit card statement.
Exhibitor Refund Policy
Exhibitor registration may be canceled with full refund (less a $30 processing fee) provided written notification is received any time up until eight (8) weeks prior to the conference start date.
A 50% refund is available for exhibitor registration provided written notification is received between eight (8) weeks and four (4) weeks prior to the conference start date.
No refunds will be granted within four (4) weeks of the conference start date. In the case of an emergency, special requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis by the leadership team following the conference.
